PANTHEONIZATION OF ROBERT BADINTER
Robert Badinter symbolically enters the Panthéon on October 9, 2025, exactly 44 years after the law he helped pass as Minister of Justice under François Mitterrand, abolishing the death penalty in France.
In the cenotaph arranged in his honor rest powerful symbols of his legacy: his lawyer’s robe, and three books : Choses vues by Victor Hugo, Idiss written by him in tribute to his grandmother, and Condorcet, co-written with his wife Élisabeth Badinter.
